The First Week

Daniele turned one week today - which also happens to be a public holiday, so we couldn’t take him to the pharmacy for the first of his weekly weighings as we are supposed to do. Tomorrow will be OK, when we will also get his birth registered. Daniele has adapted well to his new environment, and likes to go out with Daddy in his pouch/harness - at least he keeps going to sleep when he does go out, which is a good sign. Stefania is enthusiastic about having a baby in the house as well, and has quickly learnt how she is allowed to touch him (on the hands not the head, and she can rock him). She had a bit of a problem in the first couple of days when Daniele cried - she would burst out crying as well - but she seems to have got used to it by now. In any case, Daniele only makes a bit of sound when he is hungry; he seems to be so far a quiet baby, like Stefania was.

With my in-laws still here (for another couple of weeks), I still have a fair bit of time for work, especially in the mornings, so for the last couple of days I have restarted work on the Bible study preparation for the autumn (after a week’s pause), and I am managing to get quite a few done.
